Product Description

The 2021 Fixin 1er Cru "Les Hervelets" from Domaine Pierre Gelin is one of the estate’s flagship wines—sourced from one of Fixin’s most distinguished Premier Cru sites, situated just above the village on limestone-rich soils. “Les Hervelets” consistently produces wines that combine the muscle of Fixin with the refinement and aromatic lift more typical of neighboring Chambolle-Musigny.

In the classically styled 2021 vintage, this wine delivers purity, elegance, and excellent terroir expression. Vinified with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels (approx. 30% new), it offers depth and precision with great aging potential.

Tasting Notes

Aromas: Redcurrant, raspberry, peony, wild herbs, and hints of crushed stone
Palate: Focused and mineral, with precise red fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a cool, lifted structure
Finish: Long and linear with floral freshness, spice, and a saline, chalky edge

Serving Suggestions

Serve at 15–17 °C. Best enjoyed from 2025 to 2038+ with a light decant when young.

Pairs well with:

  • Herb-crusted rack of lamb

  • Duck with cherry or pomegranate glaze

  • Wild mushroom and goat cheese tart

  • Semi-aged cheeses like Saint-Nectaire or Tomme de Brebis
